Technically its all my fault. It all started on monday, I went to the bank to pay my credit card and I noticed some noise every time I went over speed bumps (as if the suspension was bottoming out). as I enterewd the banks parking lot my truck went dead completely. I popped the hood thinking it was a fuse, to my surprise the batt was out of place and the main power wire came out of the fuse holder. I just stuck the cable in the fose box and tied down the batt(apparently the batt tie down had come loose), good thing sears was just next door so went in and bought a allen wrench set and some pliers. The next morning I went to work and as I was going out to lunch I went to my truck and the alarm was bearly audible and the door locks would not work. I used the key to open the door and when I tried to crank it, NOTHING! I then realized I had left the lights on from 7AM to 11:30AM "DOH!". I then pushed the truck in reverse and started it up (Sure glad I had a stick shift).
Moral of the story is "Don't leave your lights on!" and whatever you do always use tools to tighten those nuts on the batt, Hand tightening can be dangerous.

I had a similar problem in MYrtle Beach, SC 2 years ago. I was in the S10 and fell in this pothole..seemingly swallowed my truck. I finally got through and noticed a shower of sparks (more than usual) coming from the front right corner. It seems when I hit the pothole, I hit it so hard that the battery came loose and was laying against the stell frame...damn near welded itself to the frame of the truck..THAT sucks....
