Well today Matt (Creep on here) and I were at Circuit City and I was looking for something to blow a gift card on when I came across a Bass cd, some weird cd that was produced by Bass Mekanik so I decided to give it a shot. I buy the cd and get into my car and am looking at the songs on the second cd and I see one I think I recognize from this board so I played it at about 16 on my pioneer headunit and it was loud. We stopped at a red light to leave the parking lot and no one was around so I decided to see how loud that song could get. Well I turn it up to 22(30 being the highest possible) and damn it's loud and then all off a sudeen... clang, clang, clang. My rearview mirror hits the floor. I wasn't too concerned b/c that's happened before. When I go to put it back on I notice there isn't a metal piece and a chunk of my windshield is missing. The metal mounting piece for the windshield came completely off taking a chunk of glass with it!! I was very scared! It sucked not having a rearview mirror and now I'm unsure if it's ever gonna be the same. But oh well, I'm gonna make a key chain out of the old metal mounting piece that still has the glass on it.

The cd is Maximum Bass 4, not sure of song title, don't have case near me but it was song four off the "competition bass" cd. It was scary, I'm afraid to turn up my system now. I don't want to spider web my windshield if it comes off again!

that happened to me before, but the windshield also cracked slightly when the rearview fell, guess I used too much glue when I put it back on. but I did have to replace the windshield.

You might just be better off getting a new windshield without the little metal thingie on it, and attaching the mirror to the ceiling. (You could probably use a rearview from an A2 body VW).

After my bro blew his first windshield (4 DD 15s and 8 ZR1000s will do that), the auto glass place replaced it, but it had one of those metal pieces to hang a mirror on, and the first time he burped it, it just split right down the middle from the mount vibrating. He got them to replace it again for free, minus the metal mount, and its been fine ever since.
