Went to Sweden a couple of years back with my little bro, in my parents Volvo 240 estate, to spend our holiday there (and visit the Swedish GF I had back then We had been driving for a while and had to get of off the highway, so I took the exiting lane. I saw a sharp corner coming up, so I braked a little more and went into the turn with a reasonable speed. Suddenly the car started sliding sideways, and just plain slams sideways into the guard-rail and bounces back about a foot.
Totally baffled, I drive on and park the car in the first safe spot I find and I start walking back, because I know I didn't drive too fast !!! Once I got to the point where I started sliding, everything became clear to me : the road was totally covered with little parts of security glass from people who had previously lost control in the reasonable sharp curve... It was like driving over a million marbles.
We reported our findings to the policestation, who didn't seem to be too concerned about it, and started to look for a second hand shop/junk yard for Volvo parts. But they do not seem to grasp that concept in Sweden... The car was OK, a long scratch from front to back, and a broken down grille and headlight.
When we returned home, I told my dad what happened, of course ****ting my pants...
He didn't mind that much. He believed it wasn't really my mistake, and he himself had accidently totalled an antique Porsche 911 with the same Volvo two months earlier.....
Conclusion : Swedes can't build roads, but they sure as he*l can build cars !

LOL! if you cant take a turn at 20 mph then dont drive. J/K I shouldnt be joking. 3 years ago i was doing 65 down I-94 in the Vernon Hills area, i went under a bridge and the next thing i could remember i was doing 360's for another mile before i came to a halt. Who knew that a road could be snow on one side of a bridge and nothing but ice on the other? haha
