Just heard a good one. Apparently an enclosure was being constructed and the builder was using Liquid Nails to strengthen the bond. Well, time was running short so he glued it up and immediately loaded the subs into the box, completed the install and delivered the car. The next day the car owner returned and said the box had destroyed his subs and car interior and he wanted some compensation.
It seems that the Liquid Nails had been outgasssing some combustible fumes which were trapped in the enclosure when the subs were installed before everything was dry. The customer had just started to really crank it up that night when WHAMMO!, the box exploded! Apparently the sub sparked when overloaded and ignited the fumes. The subs reached X-max pronto and then continued into the headliner, which was now blackened from the flames!
I wonder what kind of SPL that would create in a controlled situation?
