We are trying to install this on a 08 s600 mercedes. The problem we are having is picking up a K ban signal constantly. Only when the ignition is on though. It doesn't matter where the car is located it still picks up the signal. Thanks in advance.

Does this model have three detectors mounted in the front of the vehicle?

does the shop have an alarm system? are you right near a gasstation?

We once had an issues where an installers bluetooth cellphone was causing issues with a radar detector.

Here is the MOST likely cause. The vehicle probably have adaptive cruise control. That means that any time the ignition is on, the vehicle is sending out radar waves. That way if it gets close to a vehicle in front of it, the adaptive cruise will slow down.
So, if the car is sending out radar waves, and the detector is in the car....TA DA!!!!
As far as I know, there is no fix for this. You can call Mercedes and ask if there is anything that can be done.
Or maybe you can just turn off K-band and tell the customer to suck it up and deal with it.
