Can I use the police siren as alarm siren, many told me no way, as the police siren needs a lot of current that the alarm unit can't handel. Is that true.

you can just run a relay to power it up. if you need to know how to wire it just pm me...

I used to use an old mechanical siren... Sounded like an air raid!!! I think I still have the thing. Like was stated before... Use a relay. Relays have many uses, but a common one is to "step up" voltage. A standard single pole double throw relay will handle a 30 amp load, and can be triggered with a tiny amount of current.

I talked the electrician he told he knows about the relay but the problem that when you hook the siren to power it will not work, only with it's power supply

So hook up the power supply, and use the relay as the switching mechanism for it. if you need more than a 30A draw for the power supply, use multiple relays in parallel. The relay can be used as a switch, taking a small input current to throw the switch, and then pass a full 30A through different poles. This is exactly the type of situation where they are called for.

I have encountered those in some old security alarm systems that are still around and used in residential & commercial.
They are from the old ADEMCO (Alarm DEvice Manufacturing COmpany) from the 70's era along with bells.
The steady tone gradually rises to a peak & then decreases.
About a actual Police Siren, I think there is a special separate siren driver for the speaker that resembles a normal car alarm siren. The reason is because thay are so darn LOUD!
Being a security alarm tech for both residential & commercial, I know that a special separate siren driver for a speaker is louder than just a self contained siren itself.

So is it possible to make it work as alarm siren.

* I had to cut the plastic flare with a hacksaw to fit. Don't cut the trumpet though.
Use warble/yelp tone instead of steady. In residential & commercial security, warble/yelp is burglary and steady is fire.

Speakers take external siren drivers & sirens have a built in siren driver.
