I have a custmer that had a 5900 installed by best buy ot C/C, not sure, Sold him a new remote, went to program tach and the led just flashed about 6 times, then no sequential flashes, not a solid light, thought I would post before calling tech, as I did not do the install. Question is, during tach learn, what would cause the led to 'flicker"? The truck cranks, runs, but for about 10 seconds. The security light does cut off(FORD PATS) during remote start. It doesn't flash. Activate, truck starts, security light goes off, then truck shuts down. Any help???

Check the ground connection of the alarm.
Also remember the following for getting tach:
- FORD FUEL
- CHRYSLER COIL

Yes they do...but i consider that a means of last resort when you can't access a good tach signal.

I told him to go to where he had the initial done, no word. I had to charge him a small diagnostic fee for programming the remote. I do remember though when I popped the hood, it was on the coil, not the injector. Even though, I have never seen the status light flicker. Anyway, thanks for the reply, I posted this so that I may have an answer should it pop up at OUR shop(we did it). The guy was from out of town and neither him nor I had time to trouble shoot it. As well, thanks for the FORD-fuel(FF) Chrysler-coil..(CC) thanks, later
