I bought a vehicle that has a Avital (directed) 4400 remote start/alarm.

Well the battery died, and I replaced it, but the alarm is armed,

According to the manual it says to use the valet switch and a combination of switching the key from off to acc mode...but im pretty sure the valet switch wasnt installed, as its still in the box!

Also, it says NOTHING about reprogramming the remote!

any help?

If its Directed, open the door, make sure your interior light is on, find the valet button, turn on the ignition, press the valet button once, then hold it down, now press the lock button on the remote, you will hear one chirp, now it's programmed, cut off the ign, and test it. Hope this helps. Nate
