The car audio shop that I purchased my viper security system from told me that the following situation fried my viper and they will not replace it:

I had 4 runs of 1/0 guage wire running under my car. The wire was ran too close to the exaust and melted to the frame of my car, grounding it.

As I was driving on the express way my sub started making a "popping" noise so I pulled over and turned my car off. I checked everything out and it all seemed fine, or so I thought. When I went to start my car back up it wouldn't start. I knew it had something to do with my wires so i unhooked the positive wires from my battery and the car started.

Heres the problem...They are telling me that the wires short cirtuited everything in my car. I think they are wrong. What do you think?

I think who ever ran those wires under your car is an the brightest person in the world.

If the alarm fried other things should be fried too. They cn void your warranty if something they did not due caused damage to their install.

You are only as good as your worst install.

The power wire was not fused to the alarm. I thought they were two seperate electrical systems.

I dont know about your viper alarm but mine says that it is protected against getting fried threw the power and ground to avoid thievs from just hooking a battery to the frame.
