Where i live no cars ever get stolen, but sometime people do get into them to steal things.
I'm looking for an alarm that has a cheap price(cheaper the better) but not crap quality. I know i won't get top of the line for low money, but i don't need top of the line. I just need an alarm that has a good shock sensor, a voltage sensor for if the doors are opened, and the ability to wire multiple sirens, be it by extra outputs or using relays the diy style.
I'd rather stay away from types like bulldog, boa, ect..
One more question. Is it possible to add things like horn honk, and parking light flash to an alarm that doesn't have outputs for them, by wiring up some relays? If so that'd be great cus i could wire up those things myself to make it a little bit better.

Thanks. ANyone have experience with these prestige alarms. Did some searching and prestige alarms seem to be good.

The $2500 anti theft guarantee will most likely not apply to me since i'll be installing myself.
All look alright, and have the features i'm looking for and not a bunch that i'm not, other than valet mode. The 255 and 510 are only about 16-17 bucks more than the 25ch
Only people around here that get into cars are punk kids that don't know what they're doing and get scared at the sound of a $5.00 alarm.
If i ever make it big, i'm gona get a trunk monkey.lol

The 510 is now the cheapest one on that list. less than the lower 25ch modle by using google checkout.
Just how hard will it be to install this alarm, and about how long am i looking at? Keep in mind that this will be my 1st alarm install. I'm pretty good and following directions, and I've downloaded the installation manual for the 510 and browsed through it.
I may be relying alot on the search feature and some help from members here though if i get stuck, or don't understand something.
Thanks.
EDIT: I was about to order the 510, then i saw a crimestopper alarm for the same price. It's a model cs-2002.
Which do you guy think is better between these two? Also which would be harder to install?

The Prestige APS-510a is a great alarm for it's price range. As a matter of fact, one of my installers is just finishing installing one on a van right now. With cargolocks. We put them on about 90 vans for this one HVAC company, and they love them. $129 full retail. Actually way more reliable than compustar's entry level alarms. Although I like compustar's high-end stuff in the Pro lineup better.
