I sell and install them at the shop I work at. I have not had to repair or replace one since they became available last year. Only draw back that I have come across is camera placement. If you adjust it like it states in the manual it will get a good pic of everything in and around the drivers seat. Which after I watched the video of what happened that would be a good thing. If you have any other questions let me know. I may not know much about SPL, but alarms are my bread and butter.

Thanks for the heads up. [Cool] Ya the camera thing needs to be aimed perfect your right. It is a little bulky but it does fold out of the way when not in use sort of like a flip-down monitor does. I havent taken the car anywhere but around the block.......how is the range on the remote?

Also, my boy Sean who installed it for me, hooked up the remote start...and this car is a stick. Fun and all, ill probably rarely use it just like the tahoe, but im concerned with running this car thru the side of the house tryin to show it to someone. In the year 2006 is there a damn somethin'-or-other i can hook up as a nuetral safety switch so this doesnt happen?

Thanks [Cool]

I know Clifford use to make a ring you would put around you shifter and if it was in gear it would not let the car remote start. You could set it up with a couple relays, so that when the ebrake it set it will let it remotestart and if its not then it won't. You could do it either using the hoodpin line or parking brake, because if it sees that either one is grounded(hood) or voltage(parking)it will not start. Also for this to work you would need to nake sure when the ebrake is pulled the car would move and kills the motor.I's sure you could figure out the realy setup to make it work after seeing some of your installs. If you have any questions let me know.

i work with these autostarts all the time, the best thing I could tell you is to turn on the turbo timer feature and set it to 10-30 seconds or so. That way you have to pull the e-brake and get out of the vehicle, it will shut off in the predetermined amount of time.

e-brake wire is in the 2 pin harness next to the antenna plug, green wire.

A buddy of mine hooked up a couple of mercury hood pin switches to the neutral safety wire, and mounted them to the actual shifter (under the boot). He had to angle them perfectly so that they would only be closed if the stick was in neutral. Pretty slick, a year now and it still works great.

Yo Steve, I've used a magnetic reed switch attached to the actual shifter and the shifter housing on a Saturn, so that it would only RS when it was in neutral. If the car was in gear or if the reed switch ever failed, it wouldn't start. I'm sure you could figure out something similar.
