what it says..... im instaling a remote starter alarm system into my parents buick lesabor 1999.
the key messures 1.13ohms and ive searched thru radioshack with no luck. [Frown]

closest i can find is 1K i grabed a bag of resistors and tried doing like a bunch of combinations.... closest i can get is 1.25 and i dont think thats close enough for it to start properly..........

also i just cannt find the factory disarm wire either. it says in drivers kickpanel and just not sure which wire it is since thiers TONS of wires balled up preaty tight!
any way to test which wire it is?
the program gives me a color "L GREEN (-)"
i dont think i need to find the alarm input wire..... so that wires not important.

my parents realy dont care about theft they just want the remote starter paging system! so if yall could help me out i would REALY APRICIATE YOUR HELP!!!!!

i looked on ebay and just cannt find a VATS bypass or pack of resistors.

look for a light green wire coming out of the driver s or passengers door boot.

also you may not need to catch it.
i think you do on that car. but get it remote starting first and them see if you even need to catch the disarm wire.

Exactly!!!

But im not to sure how you do it on all these new cars that don't have key holes anymore.

Also you do know when you by pass thats vats system with the relay and the resistor.Anyone can just get in your car.

well i finaly bought some resistor packs... tho first one i bought i misplaced it so had to buy a second one.LMFAO

only downfall is now the security light comes on and sometimes when my dad gets into the car after remote starting it and forgets to turn the key all the way forward [Wink] and it kills the car when he hits the brake pedal of course BUT THEN he cannt restart the car with the key... im thinking either a wire came loose on the relay or not having the factory disarm wire hooked up might be tricken the computer or something which is now keeping the SECURITY LIGHT on the dash ON.

kinda sucks and a hassle for him sometimes not to mention the eye sore with the light ON all the time...

funny thing is it worked fine for about 4-5months now with no problems and no security light ON! kinda odd!

series some resistors for the correct ohm load, use a potentiometer or just buy a transponder.... many aways around your problemo... [Wink]

I have a lesabre also, transponder worked excellent and still does, been about 3yrs...

some people dont read any updated posts.LOL
resistor problem was solved by buying a bypass resitor kit made for it....

only problem now is sometimes when my dad remote starts it he doesnt put the keys all the way forward and kills the engine with the brake pedal... and then with the key the engine wont crank at all... he has to use the remote starter to restart the car.
and the security light is sticking ON when ever the ignition is ON. which is a real eye sore!

if your bypass isn't working properly then the vehicle won't start with the key. I'd point my finger at your relay setup. did you solder all of your connections?

I usually just do permanent bypasses on all vats systems. just cut the wires and put a resistor between them. boom, perm bypass, not like any pro thief can't bypass it anyways.

also your disarm wire would not cause the vehicle to not start. BUT, if your dad locks his car with the switch on the door instead of your keyless you added (i hope), then his factory alarm will go off when he tries to autostart it or use his keyfob to unlock and enter the vehicle.

anyway, i'd just do the perm bypass and be done with it.

see thats the odd part.... as long as he remote starts it and puts the key all the way forwards it will keep runnen with the remote system like it should and drive off...
and if he doesnt remote start the car then the key still works perfect......... im thinking maybe the starter kill is enabled and not allowing it to kick in the starter.... cause if it was the vats then the car would still grind.... but it wont even grind then if he doesnt keep the engine runnen from remote start to keys in the ignition....
