Im installing a Viper 3000 into my mustang and I have some of the install done, Im confused on the wiring of the door triggers.
from the install guide.
H1/6 VIOLET (+) ( door input trigger) This type of dome circut is used in many Ford products. Connect the VIOLET wire to a wire that shows(+) 12V when any door is opened. ( This wire will report Zone 3)
DirctWire says.
Door trigger : yel/black (L) : gray/red (R) Notes: use yel/black for driver door and gray/red for passanger door use both wires and DIODE isolate each from the GEM module refer to DirectFax document 1076 for wiring info.
now the dealer was cool enough to give me the directwire mustang info but i dont have the directfax doc 1076, and They are closed now so im kinda stuck, I have wired a alarm before but that was 11yrs ago. wow things have changed alot.
any and all help is appreciated.
ohh and I have the diodes he gave them to me lol I just dont know how to wire it.

that should do what you want if not turn them around or use the dome light wire

ok so maybee im just over thinking this but im still a bit confused.
what do the diodes do?
sorry if im making this harder than it seems I just want to make sure I do it right.
im currently triggering off the dome light and shock sensor, but the alarm has dome light supervision and i would like to use it.
thanks David
after re reading the book i missed something.
the module has 2 door triggers one pos(+) VIOLET
H1/6 VIOLET (+) ( door input trigger) This type of dome circut is used in many Ford products. Connect the VIOLET wire to a wire that shows(+) 12V when any door is opened. ( This wire will report Zone 3)

Door trigger : yel/black (L)(-) : gray/red (R)(-) Notes: use yel/black for driver door and gray/red for passanger door use both wires and DIODE isolate each from the GEM module refer to DirectFax document 1076 for wiring info
then theres the Neg door trigger
H1/8 Green(-) door trigger input. most vehicles use negative trigger circuits. connect the GREEN wire to a wire showing ground when any door is opened when connecting to newer model vehicles there is generally a need to use individual door trigger See directfax doc 1076

it let the alarm get a signal from each door seperatly in stead of sending it to the gem and causing back feed in to the other door. this is jay

so im heading to my shop now to work on the car, Im still not 100 % on this so i will wire the door locks and windows, and starter kill.
ohh i think a light just clicked on.
so I use The green wire to both door triggers.
striped end of diode to yel/blck wire striped end of diode to gray/red wire
connect both other ends of diodes to the green wire?
the diodes are like a backflow preventor? current only flows one way? so when driver door opens it it feeds into the diode then into green wire but the other diode prevents that signal from being fed into the other door trigger?
did I finally get it? LOL
that makes alot more sense if thats the case
anyways Im off to try it, if it fails I blame you, na just kidding, i have about 20 diodes so if I screw up I can try agian.

i usualy hate door pins and such so i almost always wire it into the dome light..... so much easier expetialy with newer cars! hell i still dont know where thier door sensors are.LOL nothing like the old school cars with the simply push in and out rod style simple grounding the light.
most theives are smash and grabers, most alarms as long as that little blinkie led light is seen or a warning chirp for a lite hit should prevent the majority of breakins. for the other % that is doesnt scare away.... thier full coverage insurance.

Im not 100% done, but the doors are now 100% independant triggers which makes me
I have a few other questions but they can wait.
Addiction,
Im probably going overboard but the guys at the shop i bought from said if I do it right they will give me 100% warranty even though I installed it. I know the manager well ( directed is picky about there warranties on non shop installed products.)
that and I wanted it done right this is my personall vehicle, if it was for a friend or relative the domelight would have been fine.

You will use the H1/8 wire. You need one wire that ties into each door trigger wire. The band on the diode needs to go toward the door pin, or gem mod. You will need two wires and two diodes. Then connect the wire to the H1/8 green wire. email me for the doc you want. chcc4@hotmail.com
