Hi all,i know this isit the alarm section but know one posts in there and honestly i think 90 percent of the people on this board go here first.

Im looking at the autopage RS-855LCD for about $200

and the Viper 791xv for about $500

i've compared both and dispite acuple features they are the same remote start/2 way pager with lcd etc.I have never heard of Autopage before but it sounds like a really good company.

im looking for your guys input on this,is Autopage a good alarm and does it have alot of problems etc.I know if i had the money the viper would be in my car right now.

any help would be great

The autopage is a nice unit, but I question you getting it for that kind of a price compared to the viper model.

I have used one before, no problems out of it at all. I have installed several autopage units, not just the LCD one, and never had any problems. However, you cannot beat the viper when it comes to features and reliability. I would think you could find it cheaper than $500 though, heck, you could get it installed for that most places.

yo the Autopage RS720LCD alarm is very nice, just got it installed in my car range is nice runs AM/AM for a little extry you can get the grade up which i think is the RS855LCD or somethin like that, it uses FM/FM which is supposed to have better signal through walls. I got my 720 hooked up to my sunroof and all its pimp. Alarm = one of the best things you can give your car [Smile] just get a warranty I GOT A LIFETIME warranty [Smile]

Hey thanks for your input,i was like WTF when i read AM/AM i was thinking of the radio am/fm(never mind)I know what your talking about with the range.A friend at school has a compuster something and he just pushes the button in class and then it sings a song back to him [Eek!] and his BMW is started same with the autopage.I installed one off those 855's last week but didn't know if they were a cheap alarm are not for the price thats why i made this post. The thing i don't like is the transmiter and the shock sensor they give on the autopage, just to big.

Does your RS-720LCD have the anti-grind feature like the higher up one??also what colour is the lcd screen.

I hear the Autopage has better range then the viper. Price is better too. The 855 is also manual transmission safe for the remote start. Only downside to the autopage I have seen is the brains are gigantic. You need some room to mount it compared to the viper. I have one of the autopage LCD 2 way systems and could not be happier.
