well this might not apply to thieves but instead towtrucks. When ever you have to park somewhere aim your front of your car as close as you can to a wall and turn the front wheels so anyone who wants to tow you cant. You all probably already know this but just in case.

get an Isolatior and a extra battery and make all the power to your alarm from the extra batery make it hidden and as deep as posible into your car, that way they get the hood open cut the wires off the batt and alarm still going off, cut the line to the siren and extra sirens still going off, this is an idea ive been working on just need to do it.

Have you ever watched a car get towed? My apartment looks out onto a residential street, where college students park illegally all the time. I have seen countless cars towed away, and it's interesting to watch how they do it; they always get them, no matter how close the car is to the curb or another car. Doing what you suggest might make it take longer, but nothing will stop them.

When I built my box on the bottom of it I put an extra piece of MDF and in between the two pieces I sandwiched a couple pieces of flat iron and then bloted the whole thing together and then bolted the flat iron through the floor of my trunk into the frame. you can tie a rope to my box and tow my car around. I think it would take someone quite a lot of time to get it out.

Is that glass that lexan stuff or whatever it's called?
Think I seen a demonstration of it on tv and they were pounding on it with hammers, bats and even shooting it with guns and the stuff was resistant as hell...
Was thinking it's pretty expensive though...

I have a new way to mount my woofers so they are IMPOSSIBLE to remove from the box.
Say you have 1 15 inch sub and you want to mount it so nobody can get it. Well, go ahead and cut out the 14 inch mounting hole. But instead of mounting on top of the mdf, mount it under the mdf. So you have to screw it in backwards! But even if the person taking it unscrews the sub, they wont be able to get a 15 inch sub out of a 14 inch hole! And remeber to mount the sub before you put the front face on the box. I may trye this b/c all they could do was damage it!

great info. i wanna know what kinda alarm to get for my 93 f-150. as far as someone stealing my stuff, i doubt they can without some trouble. i have my amps mounted to the back of my seat and my sub box weighs around 45lbs and to drag it out from behind is pretty tough. as far as my HU goes, i dont care bout that, its junk but i jammed it in the dash ( oops) so i dont think there gettin it out. i wanna also protect my tail lights, is there a way i can do that? im interested in those tox-head bolts from JEEP, ima look into that. thanx.

For the tail lights, get a fiberglass bed cover. IMO they look great. Had one on my Sierra that came just a little bit over the top of the tailgate so if the bed cover was locked the tailgate couldn't be opened. I assume most trucks are the same in the way the tail light bolts are in the place where the tailgate shuts. You could even relocate the tailgate handle to inside the bed to clean up the back end and make the tailgate harder to open. Ahhh, if I still had that truck...

all i know is i would like to video tape someone trying to steal my $hit...send it to americas funniest home videos...lol...they would probaly destroy my system out of frustration...box has studs that go thru trunk floor...nuts underneath the car are melted with a torch...same goes for my amp rack..studs thru the taillights(had to make a steel plate so i could melt the bolts w/o catching carpet on fire)...and if they got to my box..lets see them try to fit it thru the trunk opening(took me almost an hour to find a way to get it in)..on the alarm..when i installed the starter disable relay...i realized how easy it would be to hotwire below the relay...so i rerouted my ign wires and relay....they gotta better chance going for the subs...lol...also i use tamperproof torx...same as was mentioned above...for everything...amps, subs, and HU...and remember..the HU's don't have removable faceplates for nothing...all in all...no car is theftproof...but i am not gonna let that possibilty ruin my enjoyment!

So if they damage it now you have to take the box apart AND replace/recone the speaker Also makes it hard to replace a speaker if you blow it. Security screws seem to work better.

Good tips!! I always try and hide anything i got from the vew of ppl when i'm not in the car. But just the other day at the hopsitial (visiting a friend) i as told by a few ppl that a group of ppl were checking out my car, looking in all the windows and under the car.. Man your car is safe nowhere.. But i have an alarm w/ carjacking so unless they know the code and type it in after they start the car, they wont get very far Ans since my sub itself weight about 150lbs lol there is no way anyone is "running" away with it..

Most Tow-Trucks I know of just lift those turned wheels right off the ground before taking off with the vehicle.

i don't use one, but removable steering wheels will help a bit i think! Cos most crooks will drive your car away after breaking the steering lock, gear lock etc etc, but there aint a lot with spare steering wheels!

Has anyone screw handle bars on your box w/chains, and the chains mounted somewhere in your car....? I'm thinking of doing that...
Ya i'm one of them count stolen, got jacked 3 times!!!!!!! I can't even believe it, 2 for me and 1 for my brother. 1 did slim jim, 1 did broke my lock in the door, took it out... (kinda professional guy, know what he is doing....1 was did a slim jim, but didnt work so they pull or bent my door back, to unlock it.... So you can see how stupid guys are here....work so much for the money...fricking guys taking it away from you... But all of the jackes i got, they open the back door, bend down the seat, took the box out, just like that....
*my fault, no alarm*
So the chains are in my mind, make a single chain or 2 chains, one my friends did that...But didnt test it yet....I'm going to install an alarm, and the box i'm putting it, i think theres no possible way they can take it out from the door, unless they use the trunk.....
