i read your story a long time ago when you first posted it, and i went out and got a viper 791xv. i like the alarm, but the range wasent cutting it for me. i just ordered a compustar 2wss-as off ebay for 272 shipped, new. read the guys feedback, has sold alot of compustar products, and claims he's an authorized dealer, so hopefully he is. i got a guy that my dad knows thats gonna install it...i watch/help him so hes not just gonna do a quick install, were gonna hide all the wiring/brain, etc very good [Wink]

but i couldnt find those sirens at radio shack, or online at radioshack.com, i ordered one from partsexpress. anyone know if theyre any good? im gonna order another one, and put the siren that comes with the compustar alarm inside my car, and the home security sirens outside...

but thanks for the story, it has givin me alot of tips [Smile]

ill let yall know how the new alarm is when i get it installed...i hope i dont get charged an arm and a leg to uninstall my 791 and install the 2wss-as......

I wanted to make it so it burps my bass when they hit the alarm...damn that would scare them, 60hz @ 150db or so with their punk ass heads right there, and it would be loud and noticable from far away! Tone generator + remote turn on relay wired to your alarm could do that.

I have a 791 in one truck with 6 exterior sirens, more interior with relays, back-up batteries, 3 leds, one EL display and a digital tilt

in the other, a 550ESP, over a dozen exterior sirens, interiors with relays and back-ups, a few LEDs, 2 channel expanders for extra features like airbag control, horns and Im going to add the hide-away cop strobes to the mix

digital tilt sensor from dei will slove Allmost any break in issues, they are rated a 3 degrees in any direction, for instance, if a trigger failed, if the car moved, that alarm is going off, if you got the 5900 (one mile) range remote, you will know, I agree with everyone one one thing, put a siren inside the car, trunk, any place that would make your ears bleed, please use a relay, I will post a diagram if needed, its easy, say FU to the theives!!!!!We pay alot for our stuff, not for some crack head to steal it, protect your self and your stuff. That small upgrade on the siren should only set you back 30 bucks. Thats not much for 3 grand.

I don't think you will get a response from him unless he is subscribed to this thread & he is notified by email...looks like he was just around for about a month & a half. Last post was Dec 3,06 and he started posting on this thread. [Cool]

You can PM/email him.
