All of the mentioned systems are very good ...another good system is the DEI Viper 550ESP Alarm/Remote start

Not a personal fan of DEI alarms. Seen too many weird problems with them. But I almost never suggest the alarm/starter combo's unles the starter is an add on module, that way if the starter goes dead the customer won't lose his alarm functions.

I've been real pleased with the price vs performance of the Ungo units (especially the ms-850 mid-entry level).
In my experience DEI also makes good products.

Exactly how long have you dealt with DEI ???
The ONLY problem with DEI that we have found is on the Valet 551R and 552T are a few range problems....thats it.....as far as alarm /start combo's.....unlike most other companys..it has all external relays...the ESP lineup is Flawless....We have installed most of all alarm companys and DEI gets My vote...took a little while to get used to the wiring ....but DEI keeps the installer in mind when designing products...not just a bunch of useless features.....lets take code hopping for example....DEI incoperated it into the units to get on the bandwagon...but they also left a option to turn off code hopping to increase range with out the fear of losing the transmitter to receiver frequency...like most codehopping units do if pressing the remote out of range of the vehical...... now as far as i know no other companys provide this feature.....
IMO
This is gonna turn into the classic " JL vs Juggernaut" topic

Personally I prefer the Alpine alarms. Specifically their sensors. To me the most important part of the alarm, is not the brand name, so much as the way it was installed. The quality of the sensors and their adjustment and location, will greatly affect whether or not the unit will false alarm or not.

my personal favorite would be a Clifford. I'd go with either a Solaris that has remote start (which is what I have) or an Intelligard 7000 which doesn't have remote start.... Also check out JTI for alarms. They have some pretty inovative ideas

yes alpine are top of the line i have a sea 8081 the only thing with this alarm is when bought it i also bought a cva-1000 worked great, till the cva-1000 went out . took it back to cirucit city , ofcorse they gould not get a new cva-1000 (but) they could get me a cva-1005 with vidio in puts, what they fail to tell me is that the screen would not work with the sea8081 alarm. cost$650.00 so now i have a sea-8081 at$650.00 that works like a sea-8063 at $299.00 . called to alipine and ask why they are useing the pics of the cva-1005 with the pics of the sae-8081 on the screen ? they said --------------------....... thank you>>>>

Check carefully, you'll find that ALL manufacturers have the "Specifications subject to change without notification" clause. This is so they can make the next product (ummm....better) and give it a new model name, based on the old product.

Nobody mentioned Code Alarm. Mine has been working flawlessly for 6 years, while my car breaks down around it. I have sold and installed many Alpine, Ungo, Crimestopper, and some others. I have never had remotes that last as long as Code. And, I think, Code is the only manufacturer that guarantees the remote for life.
Hope this helps.

I don't have alot of experience with various brands of alarms, but I do want to say that with alarms the most important thing is the install. You want to find a good installer who will take there time and make sure it is done right. The reason that alot of alaarms are unreliable etc. is not the hardware, but the way it was installed. A good installer will take most of the day to do a good alarm install. I do have to add that I personally like my clifford alarm. I have the Intelligaurd 6000 and so far am very pleased with it. I hope this helps.
