This is mostly a legality issue I guess. Well I have a PA300 siren and a TS100 speaker installed on my car. Well, basically, it's a police siren. I don't really use it though, I'm not doing anything illegal =P I just like scaring my buddies through the PA when they walk in front of my car
anyway, I was wondering if it'd be illegal to make the horn on the siren go off when my alarm is triggered. like that ANNNNNGGG that the cops use on you when they're pulling you over. I figure it'd be relatively easy to do, just hook up a relay or two would do it. Well, I don't plan on doing it since that thing is insanely loud, but I was just curious if it's legal. It'd sure be one hell of a scare for someone breaking in tho

I cant say for sure. This is most likely a local issue. See if any local laws limit the loudness of an auto alarm siren. Most cities will have laws concerning alarms. This is why most systems trigger for 1 - 3 minutes then rearm. One problem you may encounter with the use of the horn you describe, is RF interference. In other words, during a triggered state, the remote may not disarm the system.

yikes. that would suck. hehe. Well, I had had been imagining if I had mounted the speaker behind the front grill, and put a closed loop on my fog lights, and then some fool come and break the loop. Would be quite a funny sight

go for it... if it doesn't work, try moving the siren around and/or diode isolating the inputs... if that STILL doesn't work, who cares??

don't let your alarm false and you won't need to disarm it when it trips...

honestly... how many have had to turn off the sirens with the remote anyway? I have done this only in test situations and once... arrrmmm... by an accident... scared the crap outta my gf...
