My sister just got a brand new '02 Camaro Z-28. I am planning on putting in a pair of CV! HED 12's and a JBL bp600.1 . I was wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks to taking apart the dash and interior in a newer model camaro? I see wants to keep the stock radio in because it has te steering wheel controls, so I was going to use a Sound Gate line-level convertor that I have laying around, and tap into the rear speakers for a signal. Basically I have to take apart the dash and the whole interior for this install and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/tips/tricks or know where I could find a tutorial on this type of vehicle? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

This is old....but maybe I can still help.

On the passenger fender is the PCM. Theres 2 10mm bolts holding it in. Release them, inside the car youll see a nice grommet. Poke your hanger/antenna through and your set. Its nice cause the battery is on that side. Ive also put holes in the fire wall where the clutch would mount to the wall. Its a little tricky running wires passed the seat belt bolts, so its best to take them off if feasable. Careful in amp placement. I always put a nice board under the carpet on the hump cause the gas tank resides right under it. [Eek!]

hey if you are still retaining the factory radio all youve got to do is go to circuit city and get a level converter and use the rear speaker wires in the rear of the car id just go to the ignition harness for the remote wire and if its a automatic use the clutch mount location as stated by the other guy the asso.wire will be the orange wire in the ingnition harness does the car have the eight speaker monsoon system or the four speaker standard system in it if its the monsoon write me back ill give suggestions for it if needed sound gate makes a interface for the use of the sterring wheel controls w/after market radios if you are interested give them a call good luck

just a tip and what i have used in my firebird and many other of my installs.
you can always put velcro on the bottom of the amp. put the hook part of the velcro on the bottom of the amp and it will stick to the carpet acting as a loop [Roll Eyes] [Eek!]
