Hey guys, I have a bunch of 3/4" acrylic(I think that's what it is...could be plexi though, a friend of a friend gave it to me) laying around and I would like to use it in my next box...problem is, the next box is mostly going to be fiberglass, so how do you go about fiberglassing to acrylic? Or, would it be better to make an MDF "frame" for the window, fiberglass to that, and then use some sort of o-ring or sealent to seal the acrylic to the frame?
Any help is appreciated, Ash

so where the plexi window is leave the paper on and start about an inch away from that with your mold that way you can taper it nicely. sand, remove paper, sand and polish, tape, paint, remove tape, clear over everything.
One question though, what painted surface are you referring to? And what paper? The acrylic I am using was originally in the form of a table, and has been used so it doesn't have any kind of protective paper on it.
Thanks again, Ash

well add some tape over the window, it helps with polishing it and obviously you can't vinyl or carpet the project if you are molding a plexi window into the fiberglass as a one piece panel.
