I bought an older set of Q-forms for my camaro....just kept em stock, no insulation behind them, bracing, reinforcement, or anything. The imaging was very good but anything below 150hz sounded like butt! So yesterday I got ambitious and put 2-3 layers of fiberglass on the back of them, let it sit overnight....and today I put 2-3 layers of dynamat super on the back of them. I bolted my drivers in place and mounted the kicks nice and secure.....all I can say is WOW!!! If there is anyone out there that has qforms that they haven't reinforced, do it!! It's totally worth it!! I'm just running a set of mtx thunderpro 5 1/4 compnents w/out a high pass xover to them! I just have the VTE on my tube driver turned up and it's unbeleivable....It won't respond to much under 35-40hz....(I was playin some bass cds to see just what they can do)..hehe

ya..thats something I would do first thing if I got q-forms. They are not bad premade pannels they just lack strength. Doing what you did is a very good idea...

Hey, the q forms for the camaro are prolly the best they make. You wanna have some real fun? Make a fiberglass mold of the kickpanel area, then glass it to the q form, measure it's size, and see if your woofers will work ported in it! I did ported kicks in my last Accord (RIP) and it was JUST incredible! Try to tune them for around 70hz or so, and I would bet you'd be even happier!!!!

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...

How did you determine the correct interior volume and port length? I have never been able to find a pair of components that have the t/s parameters listed. Did you test the speakers yourself?

Get ahold of the manufacturer. Most of the higher quality manufacuterers can get you the t/s specs for your components. You may be able to find someone who has access to all the equipment needed to get the specs yourself also. I was using a/d/s/ 320is components, and just emailed a/d/s/ and they very happily sent me the t/s spec for the mids. GREAT customer service!!!
