I'm sure this issue has been brought up before, but I wasn't able to turn anything up by using the search. Maybe its just me and the late night hour...
Anyways, a friend and I have almost finished my install in my 'new' Civic EX coupe. I knew beforehand that Honda was smoking something when they decided to put the keyless entry and dome light in the factory radio. What were they thinking?? I have a 'T' harness that runs from the factory harness to both the new deck and the factory deck.
The problem I am having is finding a place to store the factory radio...it was thought it would fit behind the middle piece of trim, where the power outlet is. However, the taped up wires from the different harness is making that rather hard.
Is it possible to unmount the green box that holds the controls for the keyless entry and throw the rest of the radio away? That would help out a lot! Just a few more little things, and my new system will be rocking.
Just in case anyone would like to know, I installed a Clarion ProAudio HX-D10, a set of DEI 3065 Components, Infinity Kappa 692.5i, a 4 channel US Acoustics USX-4064 amp (65x4), a Cadence mono sub amp (300x1) and a Diamond Audio 'Macdaddy' 12 inch sub. I also have a 1 farad cap acting as my distro. block.
