i have a 91 LX and am wondering where you ground your amps at? i currently have them grounded to the floor of the trunk but it's a thin piece of metal.. i need something thicker , i was thinking about drilling a big hole in the trunk and running the wires to the steel beams under the car but i'm wondering if that's a good idea?? please include pics if you have them..

you could do that if you really wanted to. I have mine grounded to the hinge supports for the trunk lid. I've had mine there for 6 years and haven't had any problems. Is there a reason, or do you just like the idea of thicker metal better? BAGGEDBIRDS.com

I don't have a tbird but I helped a teammate throw down an install in his the other day...we grounded one in the spare tire well and the other to the bar that goes diagonally that supports the seat back...worked fine...

yea i just like the idea of thicker metal, i'm getting a 220 amp alt soon and want to redo the connections now so i don't have to do it later on...and as for pressurized.. i'll look at the spare tire bolt but it removed the cross bars that hold the seat back, it's the only way i could fit my box in the car.. thanks guys.. any other places? i'm moving my amps to the other side of my box, the will be facing the front of the car so they'll be right by the rear seat if you can think of any other good places around there..

i just used the bolt that holds the spare tire down. worked good enough for a battery, an orion hcca 250R, a alpine mrv-1507, and an alpine mrv f405 all together.

emoo99, If you pull the carpet back on the right side of the trunk, right by the right wheel you will see a verticle piece of sheet metal that you can drill into. After you drill the hole, get a die grinder and grind off the paint so you can expose the sheet metal, then bolt your ground to there.

I have had anything from a 200amp alt up front and 4 of the Big Trojan batterys in the trunk.running 4 of them older RF power 500.2's on 2 9515's with no problems at all
