I have a JBL 1200.1 (mono) running two tempests. Say I want to be able to turn on off so that I can have it not as loud etc etc. How can I go about doing this? The only thing I can think of at all is to put a DPDT switch on the wires going to each coil, and shut that down when I dont want that one on. But, would those be able to handle 600-700 watts? I think there is probably an easier way, I want to use a single switch up in the dash hopefully, any bright ideas?

I put a swtiching system on mine to switch it from parallel and series for DB Draging. i think it shorted those little relays. it took me 3 relays to do it. i'm not sure of the formula. it could be ohm law, i think, you should be able to figure out the current through the relays and see if it excends what the relays can handle. i liked it but i burned up my amp. i would switch them with the amp playing during the comp. big no,no.

why dont you just put post terminals on the outside of your box between the speakers, and when you only want one, take out that little piece of wire. just a thought! shane
