I pulled 4 ga + 10 ga through a hole on the passenger side up behind the glove compartment.

But I now need to keep that 4 ga there and run an additional 0 ga into the cabin.

I see a huge wod of wires coming through the firewall over on the driver side right above the steering column. Has anyone ever pulled 0 ga through there?

I might just end up drilling a hole b/c I only have 13 ft of 0 ga and I don't need to waste it running all over the Engine Compartment and such.

I know you can't have door sill space for 0, so I'd only say you should consider running it in the passenger compartment if you're okay with a large, potentially unsightly lump running down the carpet somewhere. I'm not entirely sure what the interior layout of a 97 Accord is, though, there may be a good spot to run it without it showing. Personally, I ran my big inside the frame rails of my car and had it come out stepped about an inch and a half off center right behind the passenger seat back (1983 Suburban). Going through the floor makes it convenient to run the cable straight to a hole drilled through the frame, which is probably the kind of ground you should use in this case. Unless you plan to run aught or larger back to the battery. I'd recommend running three or four 4 gauge strands from the aught ground bolt to go to other components (engine, body, other points on frame) anyway, just in case you need to offset potential ground loop problems.

Damn, dude. That's the hole I have my 4 ga and 10 ga running through. I think I've even told somebody about that hole over on SD trying to find a hole in the firewall.

So I should take the 4 ga and 10 ga out of that hole and use it for my 0 ga.

I imagine I can find another hole to run my 4 ga through.

And you were the one to send me those pictures of the Stinger HPM battery terminals. That had me puzzled for quite a while.

Thanks for saving me from a big mess. It'll be pretty easy to find another hole to bring 4 ga through for my two front stage amps. I'll also be able to buy the appropriate length of 4 ga to run it around the engine bay to the driver side if I have to.

Did you replace the grommet on that hole. I never did. I figure I better with 0 ga since it's a larger wire with a higher chance of being chaffed against the metal.

Yep, that was me [Smile] I'd go ahead and find somewhere else to run the other wires. I never replace the grommet either. I scraped the insulation while I was pulling the wire through, but that didn't hurt anything.

Same car (LX though), sent 1/0 through the firewall under the steering wheel, no problem.

It looks like you have/will have 4 amps and two crossovers? I've never installed a crossover, but I'm assuming they need power wire? If so, couldn't you send one 1/0 wire through the firewall to a distro block (1 in, 4 out); send a 4 gauge to each sub amp, then a 4 gage to a second distro block [(one) 4 gauge in, (four) 8 gauge out], and send an 8 gauge to each component amp, and each crossover. That will eliminate the need to send 1/0, 4 guage and 8/10 gauge through the firewall...

...you cats ever pull off the dash?

I think I wanna put some 4" midranges in the factory tweeter location. Space seems big enough.

Or maybe I'll just have to cut that space without moving the dash and drop the 4" in just as I would have done with the tweeter.

I really wanna pull the dash out though so that I can properly enlcose the 4".

hell, that was easy. I just hooked the 0 ga up to the 4 ga that was already in place and pulled it up through the firewall.

I don't wanna be greedy, but I think I can get my 4 ga back down there as well.

Oh yeah, choppin blades, I don't think I have that same hole in the firewall as you do. Looks like my ECM is in the way. I didn't wanna move it because of the "special mounting" it has to prevent vibrations/shock and stuff.
