When I did my trunk, I thought I had a little more SPL with 2 Infinity Basslinks. I've never really done a scientific before-and-after, but I do know that damping my rear deck helped rattling inside the car.
Now I have to work on the bumper cover, lights, and other stuff on the outside of the car. My car is so loud it's embarassing...

If you want a cheap way to get rid of rattles, use clear silicon (bathroom tub & tile sealant). The clear stuff starts out white, but clears up when dry. You can put that stuff anywhere there's a seam that rattles. back dashes, around where a wiring harness connects to the frame, tail light seams, trunk lids, etc.
It costs $2.50 a tube, and $10 will do the back 1/2 of a car. That other stuff basically works by adding mass to the vehicle body...which cow dung will also do the same thing. If road noise is that much of a concern, then just about anything that will add mass to the body panels will work. For SPL, I don't know if it will really drastically increase your output, but will reduce rattles.

another alternative is available at lowe's lumber and some home depot's. it is called Peel 'n' Seal. it is almost like dynamat extreme. the aluminum backing actually thicker on the peel. they are available in different sized rolls. lowe's was selling rolls 25ft x 6 in for $12.00
i have used it on three cars now, and love the stuff. its cheaper than anything i have found yet.

Funny you mentioned the Peel 'n' Seal. My bro is a plumber and called me today from his worksite on a new hotel. He said the roofers finished up over the weekend and left 10 rolls when they split. He's bringing it to me tomorrow for my Cherokee =) I've already got the carpet and all but one seat out Posts: 18 | From: Hagerstown, MD | Registered: Jul 2001
