K, i want to make device something like a A/B Switch but for Audio. I have eight speakers in total(two different speaker systems) I want to build something that would allow me to switch between the two setups without having to disconnect the speaker terminals from the amp all the time for demonstration purposes. You know like this is how these speakers sound compared to this set type of thing. I've seen the products you can buy but i figure it can't be that hard to build something like this, i'm just curious what is inside the boxes i have seen.

I believe, that easiest and cheapest way is following:

You should buy three one in two out switches.
- Connect all - in parallel.
- From amp wire to the input of first switch. A output should go to the first speaker, B output should go to the input of next switch, than again A output to the speaker, and B output to the next switch. This way you could have infinite number of speakers.
- The last switch should be connected A and B to last two sets of speakers. This way you always have one switch less than speakers.

This setup worked just fine for me and no matter how you play with switches only one speaker can play. You can use single switches, than you should have separate switch for left and right or use double ones.

I always switched at low volume, so no pops were heard. There is possibility of dangerous pops at high volume!

I know there is a lot of other possibilities, how to make switches, but usually that involves a lot of electronics.

Easiest way?? Use relays. Then you only have one switch to mess with. For a nice touch, add a dual color LED so you know at a glance which ones are playing for sure.
