Would there be much of a difference if I installed my HCCA 15 right there behind the seats with the majority of the box in the bed, or if I make a bit of a tunnel for the bass to travel through, putting the box in the middle of the bed. Where can I find examples of this set up? Anything that you can tell me would be great!

My friend and I did a crawl through in his silverado with the box in the bed and the box mounted and sealed off from the bed with the subs and port facing inside of the truck and DAMN that got much louder than having the box in the truck before the crawl through... But we never did the tunnel effect...

If this works, here's what I used to have. This is an unfinished picture.

I find that generally you have better effects with making the cabin space larger.. I'd go with putting the sub in the bed.

you better find some accordian boot tho, bass tends to unseal and cheap imitations of boots. Leer topper company will direct you to a local dealer and they are pretty reasonable, they sell in 15 foot secttions, but you can order 30 or 45 without it being split, runs about 2.75 per foot.

The closer your sub is to the meter the better. You gain 3db every time the distance is halfed. To answer your question about the Planet Audio subs, I think they're some of the best out there for the money as far as SPL goes. They're very effecient, and they have pretty decent SQ if set up right. Not sure, but I think those are the big bang series.

Sorry, I lost this post. Ya those are Big Bangs, they were pretty loud. I got my highest 1-2 SSNW Certified last year with them at 157.5 with 3600watts (4-Rockford 800a2's) At Spring Break Nationals. I also hit a 155.3 in MECA on a Linear X (tougher meter) with 2 Rockford BD1000a1's.
