I am building a system for a friend who has an 2002 explorer w/ the 6 disc deck and 290watt sub system. He wants to keep the factory deck and also use the factory location/enclosure for the sub.
I have not torn the truck apart yet so...I am wondering if anyone can confirm the size of the sub (8"?)and about how much airspace it plays in. Also, need info on the deck and amp layout I think the deck has 20 watts x 4 and the external amp powers the sub? Can anyone offer anything?

if it's the JBL system then it's a 10 in .6f3 and it's a 6 disc in the dash
that's 290w peak
