Got a New Pickup truck. I have a metal toolbox of solid 1/4" plate metal. What do yall think of adding a mag lock to keep it same and shut. I could have a switch inside to turn in on to lock. It only uses .2 amps at 12 volts.

Any suggestions

200ma will lead to battery problems, not right away, but eventually.

If you keep an eye on the battery condition, you should be ok, think about installing a battery system for the lock alone. Otherwise, dead battery, empty tool box, AND you need a jump start.

I thought about spring loading the maglock. so it comes up a little when you open it then a switch would release and cause the power to flow into the lockif somebody tried to open it with the interior switch still on

Good idea, any type of switch that is capable of completing the necessary circuit when the door is opened would work fine, without the constant drain on the battery.
