Best place to get it is www.selectproducts.com , but, if you'd read my post about the grommets, you'd already know that!

Spray can adhesive doesn't work well with vinyl. Use real contact cement, either applied with a brush or a spray gun.

contact cement is great, but for most stuff the 3m adhesive is plenty enough. select products carries good stuff, but they have crazy prices on some of it.

I have never had any luck with ANY spray can glue holding a concave curve on a KP or door panel in the summer and I've tried most of them.
I'll keep my contact cement for vinyl!

I feel you dukk. I use to live in Phoenix, And during the summer that stuff comes flying off! It works pretty good on fabric buy not vynal. Do you use the contact cement for everything or do you use something else?

Oh, I'll use the spray stuff (prefer SA-85) for carpet and most fabrics, but it just doesn't do it for vinyl, for me anyway. I've even found SA-85 can work okay for laminates provided they have some form of support.

Dukk,

Do you mean the 185? From V&S? If so, yes, that stuff kicks ass. The new formula (black can) is NOT as good as the old (grey can) (you need to allow for more tack time), but for the $$, it's the best I've found.

Sorry, yes the 185. I still have a bunch in the grey cans but did notice the change to the black. It's 1/3 the price of any 3M stuff and holds like a MOFO, except to vinyl. Plus it's got a better web pattern than the rest and the nozzle is so well controlled that you can edge without a guide.
I love that stuff! SO far it has kept me from buying a spray gun for contact cement!

Agreed. I assume you remeber back to when they had the low to high settings on the can and also rotatable nozzle tip. Now that stuff really kicked ass. Then they dropped the low to high settings, then the new "improved" version. When you get the black can, TRUST ME, you need to spray both pieces and let it tack longer. I still have a few really old grey cans for the "special" stuff that required exacting accuracy.

Our service department and pro audio guys use a glue from MCM distributors. At around $3 for a 16 oz. can, this stuff CANNOT be beat! It holds anything to anything. For the vinyl: try laying down a 1/4 or 1/8 inch piece of soft foam first, then glue the vinyl to that. By doing this, you get a nice "plush" look and feel. AND it also covers up any stray screws or blemishes.
