my only tip is to cut from inside the bed then go into the cab. The floor of the cabs are usually lower than the floor of the bed. If you cut from the cab first you might be looking under the floor of your bed . You can get the accordian boots usually at an RV supply place.bagged and draggedPosts: 5 | From: Clovis, CA | Registered: Aug 2001

suppose i had a truck, and did the same thing, i had the crazy idea of putting a stainless-steel pipe and welding it to the whole like to go around the contour of the whole to re-inforce it is that kewl? or would that suck?

Just done a cut-through for a friend yesterday. I built a bandpass box for 2-12's and its dam loud. Cut-through was small enough (10"X10") so I used my jigsaw to cut it out. I normally use a sawzall but a jigsaw is easier to control and makes a thinner cut. And does a very clean job. First figure out how big you want to make it. That is your own decision. Then what I did was take the bed off, find where you want to make the whole at, and draw it out. Next in each of the corners, use something with say a 3 inch diameter and round them. Then drill a hole big enough to get your blade through and start a cuttin'. After you have the bed cut out, put it back on the truck and transfer the cutout to the back of your cab. Then take the bed back off and repeat the drill and cut process. Accordiian boot can be picked up easiest at a Campertop store or maybe a stereo shop. With the bed back on and hopefully a matched hole to the cab, put the boot on and seal it around the edges to keep water out. Also make sure the seam is at the bottom. Then finally all in one step, apply your enclosure and crank it up. Good Luck!!

I have the same truck with a cut-through. First.. Don't make the cut out as wide as the window.. Miss it by at least five inches on each side. Also, you'll have to cut that center brace out.. Your back wall will FLEX more than you'd believe. A good layer of fiberglass helps, but use cloth, not chop weave. Also- don't forget to put a GOOD bead of silicon on each side of the boot.
