I'm taking apart a 2000 Ranger. I can get them half way out without a problem, then I can see a dimple forming on the head of the thing (where the stem connects underneath), them it just breaks a hole right through the head. I tried pulling the stems out with plyers after I broke them, I was pulling extremely hard, there is no way that plastic head could take that much force. What am I missing? Does anyone besides ford sell replacements cheap?

I find that speed usually helps.
Try any auto parts place. They will most likely have 'christmas trees' in many types

I wouldn't condone the use of speed, or
any drugs for that matter, whether it be
uppers or downers. (sorry Dukk)

O'Reiley's, Autozone, etc. usually has
them though.
