I can't figure out where to run the power cable. I have done an older Grand Cherokee but the later model has got me scratching my head. Can anyone help?

Have you thought about trying the gromet by the master cylinder? Thats the only availabe spot on my 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport, might be the same type of design on the Cherokee. Thought id shoot out the idea, good luck. Worst case scenerio is having to drill through the firewall, best of luck once again.

I usually find a spot low on the passengers side firewall and drill my own hole, but that's because I'd rather not spend a lot of time looking around, and to tell the truth there aren't very many cars that leave access between compartments anymore.

If you choose to make your own access, take extra cart to inspect both sides of the panel, 3 or 4 times if necessary, until you're sure that you will clear of any harnesses or components.

Then when you start to drill, make a small (1/8") hole and poke a wire or something to give you a better indication of what is behind the spot where you are drilling.

If all is clear then continue on with the appropriate size drill or hole saw for your wire, don't forget to use a grommet or loom to protect the insulation from being cut away by the sharp edge of the hole.

Finally, seal the opening with either silicon or asphalt based weather seal.

Good luck,
If you need more info, let me know.
Mike
