Morning

My system admin is putting a early/mid 1990s Sony detachable CD HU into his 2001 Honda Civic.

He needs to know how to remove the dash. Are there any tips, sites, how tos for that particular car that I can direct him to?

He owns the car, so there's no Lease Clauses.

Any help would be most appriciated.

Thanks

UB

ber. My wife has this car. My expert installer (of 8 years) actually had to get out the instruction manual on how to take the dash apart!
I know you start low. First taking off the bottom trim that's just below the 12V outlet. Then you have to work your way up from there.
When you get your dash kit (which you will need) make sure you read the instructions thoroughly!
Sorry I don't have any more (useful) info.

Thanks dude!! I'll pass the information along. It at least gives him a starting point.

In comparison they're "ugly", but give me a 1980s dash - visible screws or easy to remove molding to expose screws .

Just a little info, the Metra kits look like crap for those cars.

I have to agree. I left the trim ring from the kit out and just put the radio trim ring around it.
It looks like this.
