Does anyone know if there is any way to get a box for 2 15" subs into a 99 mustang without building it inside the trunk? Its going to be ported and about 3 cubes per sub. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have built small sealed enclosures for 10's and 12's for the new body Mustangs. It wasn't fun nor easy. I won't say it's impossible to fit 2 15's in your trunk, but 2, 3 cubic foot ported boxes or 1, 6 cubic foot box, however you are going to build it, will be pretty difficult. Good luck! Let me know how it turns out.

If I have to build the box inside the trunk that would be fine. Anyone know where to begin?

Cut your sheet of MDF into little teeny pieces and start putting them back together inside the trunk.

j/k Start with cardboard templates, this will help you decide just how big the pieces can be.

Yep.. You are not getting a 6 foot box into a mustang without building some of it in there. There is obviously enough space but to get 6 feet after accounting for wood the box is going to be huge and is going to be extremely difficult if not impossible to cram in through the mustangs meager trunk opening or seat opening..

I installed a system in my friend's mustang that the box wouldn't fit in. What we had to do was take the backseat completely out along with the metal frame for the backseat and slide it in that way. We had no problem getting it into the backseat, nor the trunk by doing it this way.
