I would suggest upgrading to at least 2ga. I have a 150 amps current draw on my system and I use 1/0 gauge cable. Don't forget that when it comes to Power Cable bigger is always better.

If you use 2 gauge over 4 gauge, does that put more strain on your cars's electrical system?

more strain on the cars electrical system you ask??

Answer: No, definetly not. Power wire acts mearly as a transport for energy to get from the source (your alternator, and batteries) to your amplifiers. Upgrading your power wire to 2ga, or (my suggestion) 0ga would give you several benefits:

1) more current carrying capability (if you ever want to upgrade in the future)

2) less resistance

If it were me, I'd go with 0ga. Good luck
