Here's a little tip to make running your power wire a little easier. After installing the rubber grommet (and I'm sure you all use grommets, right?????????????? ) in the firewall (or wherever you run your 8, 4 or larger gauge wire), spray a little Armour All or similar slippery spray on the grommet. The wire will glide through effortlessly and not pull out the grommet or bind up. The Armour All is an easy clean up too!

Incidentally, if you are having trouble finding a grommet for 4ga that isn't too small or the size of a donut (I know I was!) try using the female 'cup' portion of a grille snap pair. Just cut off the bottom and they work like a charm.

Dukk, you talking about the ball and socket deals??? I've found shaft boots worked well for phoenix gold cable, it seemed to be a tad thinner than other 4ga...

STILL waiting to hear a GOOD pair of HLCD's!!

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...

Good idea Dukk, then you wouldn't need the Armour All as much.
