How about doing the customer a favour, and yourself as an installer.
Start by vacuuming the car's floor, you'll be working cleaner. Empty the ashtray (save him the roaches), ArmourAll*TM the dash, clean the interior of the front windshield. Vacuum again when done the install. Put small change and money you find, along with trinkets in a bag or box. This customer will litteraly DRAG his friends and family to you.

i like this idea, cause if i were to have something installed and when i came to pick up my vehicle everything was nice and shiney along with a nice install, it would make the install and installer look a lot better.

I like the idea of keeping the roaches myself....

I do kinda like that idea. But then you have some people that likes to do that on their own...I think you know what I mean. I do like that idea. Would not take a great deal of time also. But I am not an installer. I wonder what the actual installers think.

The cleaner you keep the car and your work place, the quicker and easier it is to work. How much time is wasted when you work in a mess and you have to figure out where you left that tool you need?

DarkAcura, try a toolcaddy from any Home Hardware(tm), even has small drawrs for connectors, and small enough to take into the car.

Likewise for any customer bringing in a vehicle. Take all the crap out of it before it gets to the shop!!!!!!!! I hate working around, shoes, underwear (more than once), diapers, pop and beer cans and bottles, last year's Halloween candy (yuck!), and the unidentified liquid spilt under the passenger's seat.
I even saw one guy (at a shop I used to work at), freak out on our installer for moving his smowmobile suit and helmet so he could remove the seat.
