I can't believe nobody has mentioned this one, but after reading a post in "It could only happen to me", I felt it wasn't redundant. Before doing ANYTHING, disconnect the battery from the vehicle. This will eliminate the "whoops" factor from any install, especially in today's computer controlled vehicles.

If you do a GM vehicle with that (*@$ Theft Lock radio, be SURE the customer has the code for the radio or the they might be "irritated" after you are done..

If you disconnect the battery here's another tool; Connect a 9Volt battery to a MALE cigarette lighter adaptor, and insert it into the lighter or "Power" socket. This will retain the "clock, Radio etc.." memories.
