Can someone lead me in the right direction about how to put the PVC pipe slices on my port. I was told it can gain .5 to 1db if done right. Size of pipe and how to properly cut it would be helpful.

I have seen some people cut like 3 inch pipe in half and put them right on the sides of the port, were the round edges roll into the port. I'm trying to find the thread somewhere showing detailed pictures of a guy that did it and noted his gains.

Found it, http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=404867

two days before MECA finals last year, we gained from 160.4 to 161.7 from just adding PVC on the edges of the big port on the front chamber of the 6th order wall

we screwed it in. drilled holes in it, then sprayed expanding foam inside. then wiped and sanded what expanded out the holes. then put tape over the holes

i would rough the inside of the pipe up real good with low grit sand paper or something then mount it and once mounted i would seal the buttom with like caulk or some thing to seal it then once that was dry i would drill a hole at the top and get a funnel and fill it with resin

something wasn't right then if you lost 2db...maybe you used too big of rolloffs and it made the port too small?

What we do is take 4'' pvc, cut it in half and cut a 2x4 so it fits inside the pvc.

Mount the 2x4 first then screw the pvc onto the 2x4...when you get the screw almost all the way down take a heat gun and get the tip of the screw VERY hot and run it the rest of the way in...it'll melt the pvc and flush mount itself

Yea it did your right. The frequancy went down and it did the same score and at the frequancy I wanted it lost 2dbs. I will try a smaller roll off and fill you all in.

ok for a test, we pulled four cars in that are going to finals...

took the subs out, and added pvc to the inside edge of the port.

results?
one car gained .7dB
one gained .6
one gained .2
and another stayed exactly the same.
i wish the two that gained were actually the two that gained the least as they are verrrry close to world records.

there's your testing.
