how do you find out how big your port needs to be by the cone area or how ever its done or how many??? can anyone help??

I use following
2x10s 1x12 6"

2x12s 1x15 1x18 8"

1x18 2x18s 2x8" 1x10" depends on size of box

one estimate is at least 16sq.inches per net cubic foot of box volume. for SPL oriented boxes, you can go a bit higher if you have room for the portlength
