box was tuned at 40hz but loudest db is @ 52hz 144.9 on tl didnt have time to use my other port board it changes it to 51hz so i hope to see a gain. i have done nothing to box no resin no braces .how much does resin and all thread usually gain ? also need to round my port board . anybody want to share some tips for gaining db in a blazer? im not trying to set a record just want a little louder .2 memphis mojo 12''s 8 cubes 160sq inch port 2-hifonics bxi1610d's set @45 volts each for now.oh @40hz it lost less than a db so sounds good for daily .box is not bolted down either yet will i see a gain? and will maxx-link gain me when installed?

rounding ur port inside and outside the port should gain, resin should gain, threaded rod or other braceing should gain, double baffles should gain, rounding inside corners might gain, different box position might gain.

Here is how to gain in a blazer...

Fold the visors straight up and down...thats 2 or 3 tenths.

Make sure both your seats are set straight up and down and pushed all the way foward, that should be over half a db

Make sure all your vents are closed and the ac is off.

If you have a centor console raise the arm rest, if you have an overhead console make sure all of the bins are open

You can also push lightly with one hand on the middle of the rear glass and gain a few tenths.

And there is rear vents in the back of the truck at the d pillars, pull the panels off and tape/seal them off thats another half a db.

I just gained you 2 db without having to touch your system [Smile]

be careful with the sound deadener...

Anytime I put deadener ANYWHERE in my Bravada I lost a good bit, didn't matter if I retuned or not.

I did the whole car, and ended up having to scrap it all back out and was still 4 tenths down from where I started.

Sound deadener isn't ALWAYS a gain

oh and a 149.0 drivers side window down lol and a 149.7 in the floor lol.

ok first off if any of you know the mojo you know it takes a very large box. i know this set up because the box is a team baldman design. the only time i have ever seen a smaller box work with that sub is in a st c crx. this sub works great in a large box if done right. i see this truck doing very well for 2 12s. it just needs some tunning and playing. it is kinda hard to help him 5 hours away. yes the tunning is to low. nothing some tunnig wont take care of. have faith people. ive been around the block a few times.
