Try positioning your seats up front all the way foward and leaning toward the dash. That is worth .5 db's in my car and even more in others. Play with the visor positioning and rear view mirrors too. Then there's always certain places on the car that can be braced to help pick up db's.

oh man! older model blazer? I had a 96 bravada I competed in street A with...i know some tricks to gain over 2.5 db in that thing lol
Take the 4x6 out of the dash on the passenger side thats like 6 tenths
If you have a center console...fold it up thats 2 tenths. Both seats all the way foward and as far foward as they will go. Take the rear panels off the back end and you will find some vents/flaps you can actually feel air come out when its playing...seal those off
If you have an overhead console also fold down all the pockets that gained a tenth consistantly
also practice holding the back glass...with one hand right in the middle of the latch no where else, that gained another few tenths.
Also sitting right in the center at the top of the windshield gains
there are a couple of other things I can't remember though
also if you aren't doing it...try duct taping your subs, 3 or 4'' strips of duct tape done in a circle to make like a roll off between the enclosure and the sub. That gains like 8 tenths in most vehicles

i ask because in your first post you mention "multiple layers of soundmat" and in your recent post you mention "tons of sound mat"
i jsut want to make sure that you know you can only have TWO layers of sound deadening in dbdrag..
i jsut dont want to see you get dq'd for something silly.
now, if its bassrace or psychlone then it doesnt really matter.
but i thought you mentioned street b..
anyway... as mentioned above... the visors, seats, and center consoles are all good things to test.
i also found in both my bucik and my nissan, that having the glovebox door OPEN and the glovebox EMPTY was good for a few tenths.
also fresh air vent OPEN and set to defrost was afew tenths in my nissan.
the 4x6 in the dash is a brilliant idea justin .. gonna have to try that in the new sonoma!!

it helps a ton
at 04 finals when I did street A...my head unit skipped and I didn't qualify.
I went right over Shedluvs s10 and started helping him...he was doing right at a 150 when we started and with duct tape, taking the 4x6s out, folding the visors down, folding seats up, opening the consoles etc etc he was doing almost a 153 and his freq changed...then he didn't set his freq when he went to the lane and played like track 2 on the db jams volume 7 lol
I never tried the glovebox though!
