I've been competiing since 2000 off and on and have never seen anything like this, I have 4 dvc 4 ohm m3's in my civic and wasn't getting the performance I expect, once i get to checking into things, the coils all check 3.8-4 ohms individually, but when hooked into parallel on the bench they read 2.4 ohms on each sub, this equals up to 1.5 ohms at the amp instead of .9 or 1, so in conclusion i hooked all 4 up parallel to 1 amp, this should have been .5 ohms but instead it was 1 ohm, does anyone have any idea what is going on? i have used 3 different types of wire and 3 different meters with no varance in results

i don't have any pics but i wired them up ++ and -- they are dvc 4 ohm subs, only been playing during the install, so they are basically new, i also checked 2 brand new ones at the shop with same results, i could understand what is going on if they checked something like 4.4 on each coil, but each individual coil check 4.0 or less, i will go hook it all up tomorrow and take pics to post

1.5 vs 1 ohm isn't a big deal

it all depends on how you look at the situation, when you put 1.5 and 1.5 together you get a .9 ohm load, this runs a 1 ohm stable amp at full power, instead of running 2 amps at full power on the same subs

when you put 1.5 and 1.5 together you should get a .75 not .9

if you run 4 4ohm dvc's series/parallel your only going to 2 ohms.With 2 4ohm dvc's paralleled you'll get 1 ohm.
