Yea, Greg....I just thought..you could take them out and tap them all the way through (or atleast to where you could thread something upto the mdf) and tighten nuts+washers down on each side of the mdf to hold them in place and you can put a little sealant on the washers+bolts to make sure its nice and sealed up...

tap the MDF? do you have to do any thing special to the MDF. i would think it would be too soft to tap.

run the tap through once, then back it out, start the bolt...fill with ca from the other side, and tighten the bolt in quick.

drill the holes with a .201 drill then put the 1/4-20 tap in ur cordless and run it threw. i would say use wax or crisco for lubricant while taping but then it wont glue. should tap no problem. if you can get ur hands on a spiral tap use that will cut better...

whoever recommended tapping M.D.F. should have their meats slapped! Just thread the copper rod. Doesn't matter if the nuts or washers are copper.. energy isn't passing thru those.

but I do like that idea!
