I have one 8" fosgate punch sub and an mb quartz 6 1/2" components set. Any recomendations on crossovers and enclosures? I want to put them in my 80 corvette. Not alot of room for anything big. I also have a punch 150 amp and a set of 4 1/2" coaxials mounted in the dash. I'm not into the real deep bass I hear thumping down the road. Rather have the tight bass of hardrock. The only thing I was thinking is one long box across the back with the sub and 6 1/2's as midbasses and maybe mount the tweeters in the doors all run of the amp and the coaxials run off just the stero. Any ideas?

why would you need a crossover? the components come with crossovers...and almost every amplifier made today comes with internal crossovers built-in

^If he is going to run that amp in tri-mode with the component system and sub off the 2 channel amp he is going to need a custom built passive crossover for the sub and for the component set.

The component set crossover only protects the tweeter. It does not have a high pass for the midbass and very very few have a lowpass for the the mid either--they let it roll off naturally.

I would suggest another amp as the easiest route. Other than that you are looking at building a custom passive. My gut tells me you have not done that before. Madisound could probably build one for you.

i'd imagine the MBQ components would have a lowpass crossover, even if just 6dB/oct.
Actually, I just looked on a few boxes in the stockroom-the discus and premium series have a 12low,12high crossover. the q's and sig's are even better
the rest i agree with you on.
