Ok, I believe it is the premium sound system but when we got it someone put in a factory radio no tape or cd. So the rear speakers do not work and it has rear audio controls in the center console that do not work. I want to replace the radio with a Pioneer and was wondering if anyone knows what metra part number to order? I have talked to crutchfield and they do not know for sure, I pulled the radio and it has two pretty large square plugs one going to the radio now and one just hanging. I ordered the 70-5514 kit and it does not even come close to working it has the older long and flat plug and a smaller square plug and the amp defeat plug. I think I need the 70-5700 but would like to get a second opinion before I order another wrong kit.

The 5700 has three plugs. The 5700R has two plugs, one with RCA's. These are bestkits parts. You may also need a SVEN4 from peripheral if it has the premium system, and may explain why the rear speakers aren't working, they are probably amplified. Try popping the speakers with a battery, if you don't hear anything popping, then it's amplified http://www.bestkits.com/ViewImage.aspx?img=i/BHA5700.jpg http://www.bestkits.com/ViewImage.aspx?img=i/BHA5700R.jpg

Well just from looking at those images the plugs are not big enough to fit. Doh, I need to take a photo and do a pinout count. I dont need the rear controls to work one the new radio is in just want to get the rear speakers working at least.

All you need is the 70-5517 not the 5514. Its been a while since i have worked on one of one of thoes but I believe that the factory amp on the car is only for the sub. I do remember that the amp is located behind the pasenger side panel in the cargo area.

If it has the jbl sub in the rear, youll need the metra 70-5715 harness too bypass the amp. Easy way too tell is if you dont have an antenna connection behind the radio. The amp is in the rear side panel you unplug the amp and plug the harnesses into each other along with the antenna and run them up front. If I remember correctly though there was a model that didnt need the antenna but still needed the bypass. What model and year is you car?
