Where do you want the switch locayed ?

Easiest is to run a larger remote lead from the head unit to switch source and attach switch to a buss bar of sorts with a lead from each remote turn on from amp going to bar.

Relay. Run the power side of the relay to the bank and switch the coil side.

the reason for using a relay is it isnt safe over 4-5amps to use a switch. i would use a terminal strip if you need one let me know or order from www.partsexpress.com . i am talking the ones with a screw and you use spade crimp terminals.

a amp will only pull up to .25amp for remote most are less.

are we talking about this item?

if so, I can see how to connect 10 amps to one switch but. It looks like I would still have to run those 10 wires to a main switch. correct me if I'm wrong.

Just use the relay and the wire, no real need for the terminal strip [Smile]

sorry it has been a couple days sence i have been here.
yes that is strip i was talking about. just run ur jumpers or you could make a custom distributon block.
why you want to do this is so you dont have a wire mess and if you want to unhook a amp or several you dont have to cut wires.
if you were closer i would machine you one ...

if you or know someone with a drill press it can be done.

ok a easyer way- take a 3" 1/4" bolt and bolt and nut it threw ur enclosure near ur amps. now with my guess thicknees of ur enclosure "probley" have about 1.250 sticking out after the nut. take 16 remote wires to ur amps and crimp a ring terminal on the end and slide them over the bolt then nut. now use another wire to the bolt and ur remote lead with a relay and switch and power it up.
this would be the easyest by far...

I ran a master kill switch on the podium then a switch board in the back (had 4 switches one for each strapped pair of amps).

That made checking coils really easy. Just leave the master on then click each pair of amps on from the switch board in the back....audibly check coils.

Tried a relay at on point in time but got crazy popping on and off.

A priceless lesson.........cheap switches are NOT worth it in the long run.

I don't think I have any where you can actually see the switchbox. The wiring in that van was a nightmare.....120 BC 2 volts.... it looked like someone dumped a garbage can of scrap 1/0 in the back of my van.

I'll look for some others.....I know NWA has a nice box in the red SS 3-4 van....or at least it did at Steve's 300th.

I would love to see how NWA setup their stuff. it would be a big help.

Head unit to relay feed, out to amps.

Power to relay feed via a switch.

That way we can have the head unit on, find track, turn volume up and not have the amps on.

All inside the podium.

Was only 4 amps mind, with more amps it will be the same but also a switch per amp in the car, as Al has said. Makes testing amps and setting up so much easier.

Also got a switch in the RCA line and a roller.

Got a nice red one too, not wired up yet but will be for the air horns, when they get fitted [Big Grin]
