Here's another age ol' trick. To prevent battery corrosion matter to accumilate between the battery terminals, put a copper penny(the older the better), on top of the battery post. The chemical reaction will occur on the penny, not on the battery contacts. Got a Penny? Leave a Penny.

Eli, that does work, I am not disputing that. However, if the vehicle has a properly operating charging system, corrosion should NEVER become a problem.

Also here is something that many know. If you do get that nasty stuff on the terminals get some coke and put it on the posts. It helps disolve that stuff and makes it easier to clean and sometimes comes right off.

Baking soda and water is the best choice, or just water. The idea is to neutralize the battery acid. But if coke works..., chalk up another one for them, I failed the Pepsi Challange anyway.

Hey if you just go down to anyplace that sells batterys or car parts you can get these green post things for a buck. You take the connections off the battery's terminals and put the fabric around the terminal and it stops corroding.

The coke idea works awesome. I prefer the red and green soaked felt washers myself. If you ever high pressure wash your engine though the washers have to be replaced.
